“With passionate, piercing eyes that swell with depths of watercolor, it’s easy to get lost in the faces of Wilmington artist Addie Jo Bannerman. Bannerman uses watercolors, gouache, pen and acrylic paint to provide a heartbreaking fluidity and grace to her feminine portraits…” — Star News

Addie Jo is a self taught watercolor artist from Wilmington, NC. She has exhibited her work at Cameron Art Museum and at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery at CFCC and is the winner of the Encore Best of 2019 Award for Best Female Artist. Ever since she found watercolor in 2016, she has painted many different subjects but fell in love with painting faces. Creating her portraits involves an organic process bearing little intention of what emotion they will exude, letting go of control and allowing the watercolor to tell a story.

Addie Jo currently lives in Savannah, GA and loves to cuddle up with her three dogs, eat tacos, put on a record, listen to podcasts to gain more knowledge about being an artist, and ride her vintage 1976 Yamaha DT175 motorcycle.
